1 month on the job
Thursday, 28 February 2013
Today marks my first month serving at OMF. Time goes by rather quickly, I guess, especially if you are busy. I have learnt lots from my predecessor and fellow co-labourers, and much from those who come by or through our doors as well.
At times, I feel often like a tour agent of sorts, suggesting countries and itineraries, linking up inquirers with the field, processing applications, preparing workers, liaising with authorities, and so on. One conversation I had went like this
Would you be interested in this country, this program? No? How about that country, it suits your timing and interest…
God is teaching me lots through this role, not just from the missions or ministry perspective, but in my personal growth as well. Patience, humility, perseverance, and discipline, to name a few.
Thank you, God, for providing this opportunity. May these next 2 years be pleasing, glorifying to You alone.
Song – You are God alone by Phillips, Craig & Dean
Saturday, 29 May 2010
1. You are not a god
Created by human hands
You are not a god
Dependant on any mortal man
You are not a god
In need of anything we can give
By Your plan, that’s just the way it is
Chorus: You are God alone
From before time began
You were on Your throne
You are God alone
And right now
In the good times and bad
You are on Your throne
You are God alone
2. You’re the only God
Whose power none can contend
You’re the only God
Whose name and praise will never end
You’re the only God
Who’s worthy of everything we can give
You are God
And that’s just the way it is
Bridge: Unchangeable
Unshakable
Unstoppable
That’s what You are
